Think Purity Algaecide for Ponds
Algaecide for pond or water basins in closed systems only, this product must never leave your pond or water garden to reach streams, or other surface water systems in the vicinity of the treated pond.
This product is toxic to algae in your pond. It is also toxic to copper sensitive aquatic plants, invertebrates and fish. Use with caution, following dilution and application directions carefully, including testing your water before re-treating.
For ponds with severe and persistent algae blooms where other measures including aeration and bacteria treatments have been unsuccessful. Overuse of this product may create toxic copper pollution in your pond, so use with caution and always test your pond water before retreating. After treatment follow up with aeration and beneficial bacteria treatments to prevent re-occurance of algae blooms.

Testing Water for Copper Level before Re-Application Always test the water before re-applying Think Purity. Purchase  Free/Dissolved Copper test strips from a local pool supply store and follow the directions on the label.

 General Treatment Notes

• Dilute algaecide 4 to 10 times and spray directly on the surface.

• Skim dead algae and organic matter that rise to the water's surface after treatment. Allowing dead organic matter to sink and decay will provide a food source and additional nutrients that stimulate algae re-growth and further blooms.

• Use in conjunction with beneficial bacteria that will help digest excess of nutrients.

• Non-target plants will suffer contact burn if undiluted algaecide is accidentally spilled on them. Do not apply in such a way that the concentrated product comes in contact with grass, ornamentals and other foliage.

*NOTE: The use of copper sulfate algaecide has potential for detrimental environmental effects if not use properly and in higher concentration can be toxic to fish and other organisms. Overuse of this product can result in copper build-up in the sediments leading to a sterile bottom, killing important beneficial bacteria, microorganisms, snails and other beneficial "creatures". Ensure proper aeration and regular application of beneficial bacteria in your pond to help prevent reappearance of algae along with other measures that will help shade the water such as blue or black dye, floating islands, nympheas...
