How to Design Your Own De-Icing System Using Bubble Tubing

Practical Information

STEP 1: Take Measurements of the Following:

Distance of compressor location to electricity (if a linear compressor is used it needs to be protected in a boat house or shed).
Length of torpedo tubing required (this air hose tubing delivers compressed air from compressor to the bubble tubing).
Length of bubble tubing required (it can snake around the dock or form an arc several feet away from the dock).
Consider how you might want to put this compressor to use in the summer months and decide at the planning stage the lengths appropriate to these needs too. In some instances extra bubble tubing cannot be added to certain compressor sizes.

We will make sure your requirements are met, and we will help size the compressor for the job. A simple guideline for compressor size goes like this: If the length of tubing is greater than 80 feet or deeper than 10 feet you should consider the Vertex or Aqua Master compressors, if the length of the bubble tubing is less than 80 feet and in shallow waters, consider the PPM line of silent linear compressors.
