Torpedo Tubing: Self Sinking Airline Hose
Use this submersible tubing to connect your air diffuser stations to your compressor. The tubing installs itself and stays on the bottom of the water under its own weight because the density of its material is slightly greater than the density of water. You don't need to attach bricks, rocks or pieces of metal to sink it, even when it is filled with air. The tubing is made of a composite of high density PVC that allows it to be flexible and therefore easily manipulated, all while sinking quickly to the bottom of the water. The installation of a complete aeration system has never been so simple.
The self-sinking topredo tubing is offered in sizes of 1/2", 3/4" and 1.5" in diameter, depending on the needs of air and the distance between the diffuser stations and compressors. You can easily join several sections of Torpedo tubing with out a problem. The tubing of a 1/2" diameter, the smallest of the three offered, has a wall at least 8mm in thickness to prevent any possibilty of perforation by debris or pointy rocks. The Torpedo tubing stays flexible even in very cold temperatures.
