100 W Pond Heater

Can $95.00

Let your fish breath easy during cold winter month with our small pond heater . This unit keeps a small hole in the ice allowing the healthy exchange of gases throughout the winter to help prevent winter fish kill.

During the summer and fall, leaves, plant matter, fish waste and other debris sink to the bottom of your pond and begin to decay. Before winter, this decay does not pose any danger to your pond as the gases produced by decompostion travel safely to the top of the pond and are released into the atmosphere.

However when winter sets in and your pond ices over,  these gases are trapped under the ice. As the gases from decaying material begin to accumulate they become toxic and can sicken or kill your pond fish. A well placed floating pond heater will allow the escape of these toxic gasses and ensure the safety of your fish by keeping a small hole free of ice in the surface of your pond to allow the escape of gases that could otherwise sicken or kill your fish.

  • Recommended for ponds up to 1 000 gallons. an additional de-icer should be used for each additional 1 000 gallons of water or for ponds requiring extra gas exchange due to excessive plant decay or large quantities of fish under the ice.
  • Should be used in ponds that are deep enough to allow plenty of liveable water under the iced portion of the pond.
  • The pond heater will not harm or burn pond liners.
  • Thermostacally controlled.
  • Extended heat duration option will help to create a larger hole.
  • Simple, reliable operation.
  • One year warranty.
  • 3.6 meter long power cord.

REMEMBER TO POST DANGER THIN ICE SIGNS IN VACINITY OF ANY DE-ICING SYSTEM

INSTALLATION:

Just plug in your de-icer and let it float in your pond dome side up. You should begin using your de-icer before it becomes iced over or you can make an opening to put it in place by pouring hot water. Do not chop through the ice as the shock waves can damage or kill your fish. Always keep safety your number one priority. Never walk on thin ice. Try to position the de-icer within arm’s reach of shore to avoid walking on thin ice. Snow and ice should be removed from the top of your de-icer.  After the season, wipe down your de-icer with a damp cloth and store in a clean dry place. Always inspect your de-icer before using. If there are cracks in the cord or plastic housing, do not use. Discard immediately.
